Scaldino, Bedskirt, Duvet, and Draperies
They're all the rage! Scaldini (plural) are throw blankets placed at the bottom of the bed. I've even heard people call them 'bed runners.' Scaldino, in Italian, translates into "little heater." It is usually 18" wide and slightly longer than the width of the bed. It's a quick way to give a new look to a room. I added a thick fringe to the edges to make this even more luxurious.
The bed skirt is custom-made to accommodate the high bed. Slits are formed at the railing corners so that the fabric drapes nicely. Welting is used on the duvet cover to create a more polished look at the edges.
Coordinating fabrics create the appearance of classic simplicity in this master bedroom.
